This storybook immediately caught my
attention with the title and then an image. The introduction was easy to follow
with starting off with the time period, and then going into talking about how
Mount Olympus is the neighborhood to be part of. I liked that after getting
some background right off that bad, this storybook’s introduction went on to
explain the gods and goddesses with their personalities in a way everyone can
relate to. My favorite story was “Hera.” The writing was a little sassy, and I
love that. The writer did a great job in making her readers get inside Hera’s
though process.
I would describe this storybook as one of the cutest storybooks. The introduction immediately takes you back to story time in kindergarten! The layout of the storybook was very easy to navigate. For some reason the font choice stood out to me the most because it fit the theme of the storybook, and almost made me feel as if I was looking through a book to read in kindergarten again! My favorite story was “The Fate of the Pizza Party.” The author made it super easy to feel all the emotions of the teacher and Hannah! I also liked the moral of the story—don’t let other things like hopscotch distract you from your purpose.\
This storybook had a very personal
touch to it, and I thought that was very unique and different. I noticed the
author wrote the introduction for the storybook in first person. I thought this
was a great way to get people to look more into the storybook. I immediately
wanted to know who the “I” in the introduction was. My favorite story was “Koma
and Gon.” It was the classic “running away together love story” with an unique
touch. I like how there were so many different perspectives on love with the
characters in the story. Overall, I think the author did a great job with
keeping up with the theme.
